The Antique Map Inventory c. (1806-1960) is an artificial collection of 436 maps that were stored together in a map case at the County Clerk’s Office. The collection was transferred to the archives as a group in 1989 for re-housing and storage. Finding aids and microfilm copies for these and all maps filed with the County Clerk are available at the main office of the County Clerk.


This index was created by transcribing handwritten information and required interpretation. Please search using a variety of spellings.


Hints on searching:

  • Use an asterisk (*) to search on a word stem.
    e.g., tax* will find tax, taxes, taxation, etc.

  • Use OR to find any of the specified words or phrases.
    e.g., treaty OR treaties will find records containing either treaty or treaties or both.

  • Use AND to search for all words or phrases.
    e.g., naturalization AND petition will find only records that contain both words.

  • Use NOT to exclude a word.
    e.g., tax NOT property will find records that contain the word tax but not the word property
